Lol, this is a good one.
Borat was winning with his strange builds 2 years ago, not many ppl here remembers that, and not in this 1v1 halls meta days Nor people remember Power or some of players of his calibre.
I have no clue? Your post really showed who has no clue lol, but you're right, it's pretty sad.

Does that mean Anet will copy the sealed deck format somehow? Would be mad fun. Especially if it was really customizable. Like...

Only proph and nightfall.
Stuff like that. You could limit classes, limit the skill sets.
A man can dream though, a man can dream.

I'm pretty sure that if a group can hold halls with me on monk, that's a sign that people in tombs aren't very good.
And yes, I have been holding on monk. I'm probably one of the worst monks in the game.

Alright we will go with your set idea that if you are at the apex of tombsing, you are a skilled player.
I do believe that [GANK] would be considered one of the best tombs guilds in the history of this game, am I correct?
http://www.guildwars.com/competitive/ladder/show_guild.php?guid={091D65DC-DB44-49D5-9713-089C4A80EAF8}&lang=en
Why is it the best players in tombs can't surpass the r300 mark on the ladder?
I tend to notice that if there is not enough time to get a GvG match in between AT matches, guilds will just hit up halls for about 20 minutes. Why is it those guilds can plow through all the way to halls and hold regardless of the build they are running?
I'll let you figure it out. Let us know if you need help because you seem to have a hard time grasping anything that has been talked about so far.

these "strange builds" that borat played as you say were infact massively broken builds involving insane soul reaping abuse or AoE spikes that hit for 1500 damage while having 7 chars with considerable healing and protting abilities.. so dont pretend the builds required any sort of player calibre - apart from ofc the creativity that created them (which is commendable but abusing rts and necros doesnt translate to good player) assuming ofc borat is truthful in his claims to these builds.
i dont understand why borat is even being brought up anyway, apart from his crazy statements over him thinking he is entitled to balance forum access and influence.

1) Gank reached top 50 (as I recall) GvG. I can't wait for the "ZOMG U GUYS RAN LAME DUAL BSURGE BUILD": Look at today's meta, 7 defensive characters...
2) Hold halls "regardless" of build is bs. Most GvG builds are competitve in HA aswell. Heck, EVERY build is competitive. And once you get to HoH, they're always that random % chance you'll win, regardless wether or not you have snares or running power.
On a serious note: If anything, GvG builds, as it stands right now, will fair better on the way to HoH. With all the NR/Tranq IWAy's, having your glyph monks will be better than channeling. (Iway doesn't do dmg anyways)
Still pretty funny how you're defending top GvG'ers (Top 100), because unlike you, I gues, I actually observe people in top GvG.
People have become a joke, just as bad in HA. Mons using glyph => 2 5 energy spells and then Aegis, eles spamming on spear and shield INTIRE game, Warriors that feel it's necessary to hit EVERYONE with their sundering/elemental (Don't know what it is) axe, instead of using vamp => 60AL, Ele => Warriors.
HA'ers to the same thing, I know. And top GvG probably still is better than top HA, but don't make random statements such as: "HA'ers are bad".

And they stopped pursuing the ladder because they couldn't maintain it. Once people learned what GANK was running, it was an easy team to build wars.

Making unfounded claims are stupid. Not only do I obs those players, I am one of them and play against them.

Old topic, warrior is based off skill not weapon choice.

I never made such claim. There are good HA players. That is how I found Squeav. I thought he was a good prot monk and I asked if he wanted to learn to GvG prot.

I'd go with Cute/MATH if you really want to use that kind of example. Pretty sure Cute was once ranked 3-4th.
Eitherway, both formats have lost the majority of their respective playbase these days anyways, so what's the point arguing about which format takes more skills. I won't even get into some of the more ironic stuff that is said here.
Also, what's all this epeen contest have to do with skill balance, I've lost track.

It's actually a sign of a pretty careless monk to glyph then aegis. The glyph animation is a nice "interrupt me" sign for any disruption on the opposing team.

Your gonna make rangers take powershot, and instead of that people will just take another warrior etc etc.
Forcing something else to be used, or a variety of professions, does not include the nerfing everything that has usage.

I totally agree with this comment!! I would have say that if I'm good with English languages. Whenever I see cry babies whinning about skill nerf. My first impression is... if you got beaten up by these skills, why don't u try and counter it?? In guild war, everything can be counter!!
It almost sound like people are "jealous" because few skills become over-use and their favour skill didn't.
Not to mention... Mirror of Ice? Ha, I barely see any Elementalist beside me using this elite. And this is an ENCHANTMENT, whoever suggest a nerf should check on enchantment removal list, u would be surprised there are TONS of way to remove MoI!!
Water Elementalists already suffer lesser damage issue then other 3 elements. If anything, I would even suggest MoI giving +2 water attribute just like Anet did to Double-Dragon Fire elite. And nope, don't even start saying because Water shouldn't deal damage! As long u're Ele, u should deal dmg, Anet shouldn't Label Water = Pvp/no dmg! Just re-write the MoI skill and say it deal extra ignore-armor dmg for god-sake!
Vision of Regret? Well... hex removal? And this is very useful in both Pve/Pvp, there is no need to murder a skill just because a lot of Mesmers are using it.
Lingering Curse? Yes its AoE, but... have anyone thought about spread their team a bit to avoid AoE hex? Beside, Lingering curse make PvE curse necro more variety instead of just boring Spiteful spirits.

The epeen joust started when Mitch claimed HB is fail without having to play it on a top level, then Borat came and started arguing, then it became a whole GvG fan vs. HA fan thing.
I prefer to see buff than nerfs. No fun on the latter.

That's like 2 participants arguing over who won 4th place in the spethual olympics.
I also agree on seeing buffs over nerfs, like I said before, if ANET wants to bother with "balance" they should just buff the crap out of a few PVP skill templates for each class so that if you don't play these templates you'd put yourself in a major disadvantage (this is basically the direction they seem to be going with anyways since most wars run WE, most necs run LC, etc..). However, I think at this stage of the game that'll just make the game even more boring. You are better off with rolling dartboard buffs and meta shifts.

Please nerf Mending.
I've been waiting 4 years. Those whammos in American RA districts are just too strong. They are completely immune to my Sever Artery. It's just plain rediculous.
Mostly i would love to see the AoE reduced healing removed from LC. What were they thinking? Seriously... this skill would still be overpowered even without the AoE effect. The recharge is ok (same as Defile Flesh). I'd suggest they increase the energy cost to 10 and keep ONLY the degen as AoE i.e for 6...25 seconds target foe and nearby foes have -0...2 Health degeneration and target foe recieves 33% less benefit from healing. That would be a perfect change imo. With only single target degen LC wouldn't be much better than Defile but just reducing the healing benefit to 25% and keeping the AoE (like some people suggested) wont change anything.

When a guild is able to hold halls without any form of healers to ghostly at the old king of the hill mechanic, that tells me enough that tombs is and will be full of shitters.
And if you wonder what I'm talking about: War Friends [WF] We held halls multiple times with 8 touch rangers, beating the shit out of the those times 'famous' tombs people like Power, Shoko (or how the RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GO his name is written) etc.
So I think this should end this bullshit about tombs vs gvg.
And to the argument about GvG being death march to the flag stands, yes in current state of skill balance it is so. But tombs has been that for last 4 years.
